Shown in a rendered room

One-of-a-kind custom furniture.

If a furniture store has exactly what you want, I'm probably not the person you need. I build high-end custom furniture in Geneva, Illinois.

Made for one space

I build for the space a piece is going into: its proportions, its materials and colors, and the way it will actually be used.

More than tables

Tables are most of what I have built, but not all of it. On this page are two chairs, a bed and a curved desk. I also build entry and console tables and sculptural one-off pieces, which is the work I want more of.

Each one starts with a conversation about the room, then a drawing, a SketchUp model showing the shape, proportions and details, and AI-assisted visualizations to help show the finished piece in context, followed by the build, the finish, the delivery and the installation.

Things I have not built yet

Some of what I would build next is not on this page yet. If something you have seen, or something you can only describe, would be right for your home or your project, tell me about it. We will work through the size, the shape, the wood, the joinery and the finish until it feels right, and I will draw it before anything is built.

Before you ask

Do you build chairs?
Yes. The two on this page are mine: a walnut armchair and a slat-back dining chair.
Will you build something you have not built before?
Yes. If you have seen a chair, a console or a sculptural piece and want something like it made for your space, tell me about it.
How long does a commission take?
6 to 12 weeks from design approval. The joinery, the curing and the finishing set the pace, and there are parts of fine furniture making that simply cannot be rushed without affecting the result. Expedited timelines may be available for select projects based on production capacity.
What does a commission cost?
Most commissions fall in the $6,000 to $20,000 range, and some fall outside it. Tell me the size, the wood and the budget you have in mind, and I can usually give you a rough price on the first call.

Start with a conversation, then a drawing.
