Finishes and samples.

Send the flooring, cabinetry, paint, fabric or finish sample you are working to. I develop physical samples and adjust the wood and the finish until it coordinates with the scheme.

Matching, not choosing

I’m not an interior designer, and I won’t choose the palette for the space. You set the scheme; I make the wood and the finish agree with it, and I match requested colors very closely.

It is done on physical samples, because a color on a screen and the same color on walnut or oak under the room’s own light are two different things. You see the samples before the piece is finished, and you can put them in front of the client with the rest of the scheme.

What to send

  • A length of the flooring, or an offcut
  • A cabinet door or drawer front, or the cabinetry finish sample
  • Paint chips and fabric swatches
  • The finish schedule, or a written color direction

Three tones of wood

A photograph on a screen is not a sample. What gets approved is the physical sample, made in the wood and the finish of the piece and checked against your materials.

Where it fits

Finish is its own stage, after the build and before delivery. The decisions behind it are made at the start, alongside the size, the shape and the wood.

Before you ask

Can you match a finish to my scheme?
Closely, yes. Send the flooring, cabinetry, paint, fabric or finish sample you are working to, and I develop physical samples, adjusting the wood and the finish until it coordinates with what you are trying to achieve.
Do you select colors for the space?
No. I’m not an interior designer and I don’t choose a room’s palette. You choose it, and I make the wood and the finish work with it.
What sample do I get for a resin table?
A 9.5 by 17 inch charcuterie board showing the resin color and the finish, made and shipped to you.
